Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has seen his life change dramatically since his son’s tragic passing.
In a heartfelt interview with media personality Akin Abolade, Aloba revealed how divine intervention and his son’s spirit have brought unexpected blessings into his life.
Unfulfilled plans and a father’s loss
Aloba shared that Mohbad had always intended to improve his father’s life in significant ways. Sadly, those plans were left incomplete. “He always wanted to do so much for me,” Aloba said. “But they didn’t let him fulfil those dreams.”
Blessings beyond ordinary
Since Mohbad’s death, Aloba has experienced an outpouring of support from strangers. He attributed this to a combination of divine guidance and his son’s spirit influencing people to help him.
“Everything I have now—the car, the support—it came from people moved to help me,” he said. Among these blessings are a car, a truck, and a Toyota Highlander SUV, all gifts from compassionate Nigerians. “It’s beyond ordinary. These are things Mohbad wanted to do for me but couldn’t.”

Aloba fondly recalled Mohbad’s early years, revealing that his son started as his backup singer at the remarkable age of one. These memories reflect a deep bond between father and son, rooted in shared passions and dreams.

Aloba also recounted his journey. As a carpenter, singer, and pastor, he faced challenges but found strength in his faith.
