Nigerian music star and entrepreneur Mr Eazi has shared the values and life principles that have shaped his journey to success.
In a candid street interview on MoTalkSuccess, the award-winning artist offered personal insights into what he believes helps a man thrive, and his top advice begins at home.
Speaking with honesty and humour, Mr Eazi said that one of the most important decisions a man can make is choosing the right partner. According to him, marrying a good woman can play a vital role in building a successful life.
“Marry a good wife,” he said firmly. “You hear that, guys? Make sure you get your good wife. Straight up.”

He credited his wife, fashion entrepreneur and daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, Temi Otedola, as a key source of support in both his personal and professional life.
When the conversation turned to young people and what they need to succeed, Mr Eazi didn’t hesitate. He listed three values: discipline, patience, and a strong fear of God.
“I’d say, you know, discipline, patience, fear of God. Yeah, yeah, yeah,” he said, repeating the words slowly for emphasis. According to him, these traits are not just abstract ideas, but practical tools that helped him push forward through tough times.
He also opened up about one of the biggest hurdles he faced while rising in the music industry: self-doubt and the pressure of being underestimated.
“I think just the difficulty of unbelief,” he explained. “When you’re being second-guessed, it can shake you. But you can also turn it into fuel, something that drives you.”
Mr Eazi, whose real name is Oluwatosin Ajibade, has built a global brand that spans music, tech, and business. Despite his international reach, he proudly credits his Nigerian upbringing for shaping his confidence and ambition.
“If you’re born in Nigeria, most often than not, you have that drive to go get it,” he said with conviction. “And you have that self-belief.”
He described the energy and boldness of Nigerians as something that stands out around the world.
“I don’t know how to explain it, you just see it in a Nigerian. Even in the way we walk. Audacity. Yeah, the audacity, that’s it.”
Then, with a laugh, he added: “That Nigerian pride, eh? Maybe it’s in the Yoruba soup, you know? Or the Jollof rice.”
His comments struck a balance between wisdom and wit, reflecting not only on the challenges of his journey but also on the pride he takes in his roots.
Mr Eazi is well known for merging music with business. Over the years, he has launched several initiatives, including emPawa Africa, a talent incubator aimed at supporting rising African artists. His entrepreneurial mindset has earned him praise far beyond the music scene.
But for all the business strategy and creative vision, Mr Eazi believes success starts with the basics, choosing the right life partner, developing inner discipline, and embracing faith.
His advice, delivered casually during a street interview, underscores a deeper truth: that success is not just about talent or luck, but about character, support systems, and cultural pride.
As he wrapped up the conversation, he left viewers with a final message, one that young people especially might hold onto:
“Discipline. Patience. Fear of God. And marry well,” he said. “That’s the real sauce.”
