“I have been thinking about it,” he said. “I think it’s time to share it with you guys. Some of you might be from a country, specifically in Africa, and you are looking for a president, a president who is not looking for money and power but is forward-thinking, young, active, and can move your country forward.
“So, I’m officially putting myself forward for the presidency,” he declared confidently.
Although Nigerian by birth, Mr Eazi has strong cultural and personal ties to Ghana, where he completed his university education and kickstarted his professional music career.
He has often credited the West African country for shaping his sound and inspiring his signature genre, Banku Music, a fusion of Nigerian and Ghanaian rhythms.
Over the years, Mr Eazi has built an impressive portfolio that extends far beyond music. The artist is the founder of emPawa Africa, a talent incubation platform that supports emerging African artists, and he has invested in various technology and entertainment ventures.
His entrepreneurial pursuits and advocacy for African innovation have earned him recognition as one of the continent’s most forward-thinking creatives.
Mr Eazi’s revelation comes amid a growing trend of Nigerian entertainers showing interest in politics. In recent years, several public figures from the entertainment industry have ventured into political engagement, both in elective and appointive roles.
