Mohbad: ‘I was accused of being Naira Marley’s father’ – Actor Jude Chukwuka

Veteran Nigerian actor Jude Chukwuka has revealed that he was attacked in Lagos following the tragic death of singer Mohbad.

The assault happened after a group of men mistakenly assumed he was the father of Nigerian musician Naira Marley, who has been accused by some of having a connection to Mohbad’s death.

In a recent interview with Seun Oloketuyi on YouTube, Chukwuka recounted the shocking incident. He explained that the attack occurred while he was on a movie set in Ikorodu, a district in Lagos State.

A case of mistaken identity

Chukwuka described the moment he was confronted. According to him, a group of men stormed the set, accusing his “son” of causing Mohbad’s death. At first, he was confused by their aggression but soon realized they had mistaken him for the father of Naira Marley.

“I understood from the beginning that blaming Naira Marley for Mohbad’s death was more of an attack on his personality,” Chukwuka said. “But some people saw it as an opportunity to gain attention. They came at me, claiming that my son was responsible for Mohbad’s death.”

Despite his attempts to clarify the situation, the men remained aggressive. Chukwuka had to firmly state that he was not related to Naira Marley in any way.

“I told them plainly that I am not his father,” he said. “I even explained that my family is from Delta State, while Naira Marley comes from Abeokuta in Ogun State. We have no connection whatsoever.”

Tensions rise over Mohbad’s death

Mohbad’s passing has triggered widespread outrage, with many seeking justice for the late singer. Accusations, speculation, and conspiracy theories have spread rapidly, leading to hostility against those perceived to be involved.

Naira Marley, a popular artist and record label owner, has faced significant backlash. Many believe he played a role in Mohbad’s struggles before his death, though no concrete evidence has been presented.

Chukwuka believes that emotions surrounding the case are running high, causing some people to act irrationally. He condemned the attack against him and urged the public to wait for proper investigations rather than jumping to conclusions.

A plea for calm and custice

The veteran actor called for patience and understanding in the wake of Mohbad’s tragic passing. He urged people to avoid taking the law into their own hands and to allow authorities to handle the case.

“This is a sensitive issue, and I understand that emotions are involved,” he said. “But we must be careful not to attack innocent people based on false assumptions. Let the truth come out through proper investigations.”

Mohbad’s death remains a heated topic in Nigeria, with fans, celebrities, and authorities seeking answers. As investigations continue, Chukwuka’s experience serves as a reminder of how misinformation and misplaced anger can lead to unintended consequences.

Authorities have yet to comment on the attack against Chukwuka, but concerns are growing about rising tensions and vigilante actions linked to the case.
