Nigerian reality TV star Mercy Eke has revealed that she is open to having children out of wedlock if the situation ever arises.
Speaking on a recent podcast, the Big Brother Naija Season 4 winner said that while getting pregnant before marriage isn’t something she plans or hopes for, she would keep the baby if it happened unexpectedly.
“I won’t go the extra mile to get pregnant out of wedlock. But if it happens, I would keep my baby,” she said, adding that she hopes to have three children, preferably girls. “I love female children. Even if I don’t get married, I would still have kids.”

Mercy also argued that the societal stigma associated with being a single mother only affects women who are struggling financially.
According to her, successful women who happen to be single mothers are still highly sought after.
“What most people don’t know is that the stigma of being a single mother only applies to women who don’t have things going well for them,” she said. “The women who are breaking boundaries, men are begging them for marriage.”
Eke added that marriage is not an issue for her, as she has no shortage of suitors, but she has yet to meet the kind of man she truly wants.
“I can get married tomorrow if I want to. There are plenty of suitors. But what I want in a man, I haven’t seen it yet. So even if I have a baby, I would still find a man.”
Mercy Eke remains one of the most talked-about personalities from the Big Brother Naija franchise, with her personal life and opinions often sparking discussions across social media.
