Yinka Theisen, the former partner of Nollywood actor Linc Edochie, has taken to social media to offer a public apology for her past actions and comments.
In a heartfelt video posted to Instagram, Theisen admitted to speaking out of pain and regret, saying she never intended to cause harm or make her statements public.
This comes weeks after a controversial interview with actor and social media personality Uche Maduagwu, during which Theisen made several damaging claims.
She alleged that her relationship with Linc Edochie, the son of veteran actor Pete Edochie, started after he left his former wife, Amaka, whom she accused of infidelity. In that same interview, she also shared sensitive details about the Edochie family.
Now, Theisen is walking back those comments and taking full responsibility for the fallout.
“I am sorry,” she says
In the apology video, Theisen expressed deep remorse for the pain her words may have caused. She stressed that her actions were driven by hurt and disappointment at the time, not malice.
“Hello, everyone,” she began. “I decided to make this video to apologise to Linc. Sometimes when we are hurting, we speak from a place of pain. I said things I should not have said. I am guilty. I am not perfect. Linc, I am sorry. If I have hurt you in any way, please find it in your heart to forgive me.”
She continued by clarifying that anyone currently spreading hateful messages online about Linc is not doing so with her blessing.
“When we came on social media, it was to share a love that was beautiful,” she added. “Anybody saying bad things about Linc is not doing so for me. I have forgiven him. He is a kind and wonderful man. I regret saying or doing anything that hurt him.”
Theisen distances self from online attacks
In the video, Theisen made it clear that her apology was not just about mending things with Linc, but also about setting the record straight. She urged her followers to stop attacking the actor and insisted she had no hand in the ongoing backlash he has faced in recent weeks.
Her message seemed aimed at calming tensions online, especially after the heated reactions that followed her earlier interview. But not everyone is convinced by the sudden change in tone.
Mixed reactions trail her apology
Theisen’s apology has drawn mixed responses across social media. While some welcomed her attempt to make peace, others were more sceptical. Many felt her previous actions, especially her attacks on Linc’s ex-wife, Amaka, and public revelations about private family matters, were too serious to be excused with a single video.
One user, @floraben84, wrote, “You said you prayed for May. How do you pray for someone and then come online to accuse her of all sorts of things? It does not add up.”
Another user, @nahjuanatu, commented, “She needs to apologise to May first. She did so much to her.”
@mummy_kaima added, “She will delete this tomorrow and continue with the attack.”
@jacintabae779 also weighed in, saying, “Heartbreak wants to finish this one. It’s how she doesn’t see that attacking May is where her problems started from.”
Some questioned the sincerity of the apology. @itsfyne wrote, “It baffles me how people act up towards others and then come up with ‘I have forgiven you’. You acted the drama, now you’re the one forgiving?”
@carolchintu was blunt: “This woman is not okay at all.”
As of now, Linc Edochie has not publicly responded to the apology.
