The Nigerian Box Office took to X to announce a remarkable achievement that has sent waves of excitement throughout Nollywood with “Jenifa” by Funke Akindele.
The platform revealed that the movie, released in cinemas on December 13, had achieved a record-breaking feat by earning N156 million in its second weekend.
This brings its total box office earnings to an impressive N511 million. The post read: “Another N156M for Everybody Loves Jenifa in its second weekend, pushing its cumulative total to N511M, with over 101,000 admissions.”
Film One, the entertainment company behind the film, also declared that Everybody Loves Jenifa is now 2024’s highest-grossing Nollywood title and the fastest to hit ₦500 million, accomplishing this milestone in just 12 days.
The success of Everybody Loves Jenifa was celebrated by Funke Akindele, the film’s lead actress and director, who took to Instagram to express her heartfelt gratitude. “Thank you, Lord! Thank you, everyone!!! I couldn’t have done this without your love and support! God bless you all,” she wrote.
