American singer and songwriter Jason Derulo has said he will no longer allow himself to be alone in a room with any female colleague.
He made the statement during a recent interview, explaining that a nearly two-year sexual harassment lawsuit has changed how he works and interacts in professional settings.
Derulo said the legal battle has cost him millions of dollars, damaged his reputation, and ended several brand deals.

The case, which has followed him from state to state, continues to resurface even after being dismissed twice in other courts.
Speaking in an interview with Graham Bensinger, the award-winning singer expressed his frustration. “I will never be alone in a room with a woman that I work with… ever, ever again,” he said.
Derulo insisted that the allegations lacked credibility and questioned why the public rarely sees updates when cases are dismissed.
“That case was dismissed twice,” he stated. “And I lost so many brand deals and relationships off of a story that was not even slightly believable. Why didn’t they post the dismissal at least? Wouldn’t that be fair?”
His reaction comes as aspiring singer Emaza Dilan has refiled her sexual harassment lawsuit against him in New York. She previously brought similar claims in California and Nevada, but those cases were dismissed on procedural grounds.
None of the courts has ruled on the core allegations, but the repeated filings have kept the issue in the public eye and forced Derulo to defend himself repeatedly.
Dilan first accused Derulo of making unwanted advances during what she said was a professional collaboration. She claimed the singer withdrew support for her career after she rejected him.
Derulo strongly denied those claims, saying he never acted inappropriately and never tied her career opportunities to personal expectations.
Although the allegations have not been ruled on in any court, Derulo said the effect on his career has been severe.
He explained that several companies ended contracts with him due to the public backlash that followed the initial lawsuit. He said some of these brand deals were partnerships that he had built over time, but they collapsed after the accusations surfaced.
Derulo also noted that the lawsuit has affected his personal relationships and how people see him. He described the experience as painful and unfair, saying it taught him to set strict boundaries to protect himself in the future. This includes avoiding one-on-one meetings with female colleagues, even in professional environments.
According to him, the decision is not about distrust but about reducing situations that could lead to misunderstandings or false claims.
He emphasised that the move is a form of self-protection in an industry where public accusations can spread quickly and cause long-lasting damage, even without a verdict.
For now, the singer says he is focused on protecting his peace, rebuilding trust with his partners, and continuing his work in music and entertainment.
However, the controversy has clearly left a deep mark on him, and his new approach to professional boundaries shows how much the legal battle has reshaped his life.
As the New York case moves forward, Derulo maintains that he intends to defend himself fully. He also says he hopes the truth will eventually become clear and allow him to repair the damage that the long-running dispute has caused.
