Controversial critic Verydarkman, well-known for his outspoken stance against unfair practices, outlines his job to the public amid growing debate over whether he is an “activist.”
In an online video, Verydarkman, clad in a police-style uniform with a customised “VDM” tag, claimed that his mission is more linked with that of the Nigeria Police Force—albeit an online version—than with traditional campaigning.
He identified himself as a “online police” dedicated to battling various forms of oppression, particularly those involving vendors and individuals accused of exploitative behaviours.
Verydarkman emphasised that he is purely guided by evidence, stating that he only puts situations to light when there is adequate proof. He emphasised that sustaining fairness and openness requires an impartial approach.
“CSP VDM of the online division also shoutout to the Nigeria Police Force for their tireless efforts in fighting corruption in Nigeria, and I implore others to join hands together in making Nigeria a better place,” he captioned the post.
The Daily New Prime recalls that the social media activist alleged that Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, has been arrested by the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).
The activist said in a video posted on his Instagram page on Monday that Bobrisky was detained at the Seme border while attempting to flee to the Benin Republic to dodge an ongoing House of Representatives probe.
VDM stated, “Bobrisky has been arrested this morning at Seme border while trying to enter Benin Republic to escape the current investigation by the House of Reps. He is allegedly being held by Nigeria Immigration.”
This follows recent charges made by VDM, including the publication of an audio clip in which Bobrisky apparently claimed to have bribed Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officials with N15 million.
In the clip, Bobrisky further claimed that his six-month jail sentence at Kirikiri prison was not served due to the intervention of his powerful godfather.
The revelations have prompted an investigation by the House of Representatives.
However, Bobrisky did not attend the session, citing illness as the reason for his absence.
