Nigerian actor Mr Macaroni vows to keep speaking out against injustice and bad governance, reaffirming his long-standing commitment to activism.
He vowed to continue opposing oppression, a stance he had upheld long before gaining fame.
Mr Macaroni made this statement in a recent post on his X (formerly Twitter) account. He declared that he would not stop advocating for the people, regardless of the challenges.
“I will never stop speaking up against the oppression of the people and against bad governance. That is what I have always stood for, even before fame,” he wrote.
However, he cautioned against holding other celebrities to the same standard. He stressed that activism is a personal choice and should not be forced on public figures.
“But please do not hold other celebrities to the same standard, especially when the people themselves are not accountable,” he added.
A history of activism
Mr Macaroni has built a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most vocal entertainers. He frequently uses his platform to call out government failures and demand justice for ordinary citizens.
During the 2020 #EndSARS protests against police brutality, he played a major role in mobilizing youths. He was arrested during a demonstration at the Lekki Toll Gate and later shared his experience of police brutality.

Since then, he has remained outspoken on social issues. He often criticizes corruption, police misconduct, and poor governance. His activism has earned him both praise and backlash from different sections of the public.
The pressure on celebrities
In his post, Mr Macaroni pointed out the unfair pressure placed on celebrities. Many expect public figures to take a stand on political and social issues. However, he argued that responsibility for change lies with everyone, not just a few famous individuals.
His statement sparked reactions online, with some agreeing that activism should be a personal choice. Others, however, believe celebrities must use their influence for positive change.
A consistent voice
Despite the debates, Mr Macaroni remains committed to his cause. He continues to use comedy and social media to highlight societal problems. His skits often address police harassment, corruption, and abuse of power.
As Nigeria faces economic hardship and political uncertainty, voices like his remain crucial. Whether or not others join him, Mr Macaroni has made it clear—his fight against injustice is far from over.
