Actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli, along with her husband, Nnamdi Oboli, recently shared personal insights into their 23-year marriage.
Speaking on a new episode of Pulse Fun Facts, the couple reflected on their relationship, discussing both the struggles they faced and the lessons they learned.
Early challenges in marriage
Omoni and Nnamdi, who exchanged vows on October 28, 2000, admitted that their marriage was not always smooth. In the early years, frequent arguments tested their patience. The reason? They never dated before getting married.
“When we first got married, we quarreled every single day. We argued a lot—so much,” Omoni revealed. She explained that because they skipped the dating phase, they had to learn about each other while already married. “That first month was all about getting to know each other,” she added.
Doubts about marrying young
Despite the challenges, Omoni never considered walking away from her marriage. However, she did question whether she had married too young.
“I’ve had moments where I thought, ‘Why did I get married so early?’ But never ‘I’m done.’ Ever,” she said firmly.
Her honesty sheds light on the doubts many young couples face. Still, her commitment to the marriage never wavered.

Lessons on commitment
Nnamdi also shared his thoughts on what makes a marriage work. He stressed that marriage is not something that just happens—it requires active effort from both partners.
“Marriage is a responsibility. You don’t go into it expecting it to just happen to you,” he explained. “You are not a third party in your own marriage. It’s between two people, and you have to make it work.”
His advice serves as a reminder that lasting relationships require dedication, understanding, and effort from both sides.
A love that endures
After more than two decades together, the Obolis have built a strong foundation. Their experiences show that marriage is not always perfect, but with communication, patience, and commitment, couples can overcome challenges.
Their story offers a valuable lesson: love grows when both partners put in the work.
