Nollywood actor Bucci Franklin has spoken openly about the painful childhood experiences that shaped his life.
In a rare emotional interview, Franklin shared how rejection, anger, and resilience marked his journey from boyhood to the man he is today.
The actor revealed his story during a sit-down with media personality Chude Jideonwo, widely known as Chudeity. Highlights of the conversation were posted on Instagram, sparking strong reactions from fans and colleagues.
Franklin’s story is one of loss and survival. According to Chude, the actor recalled how his father abandoned him at a young age. Years later, when Franklin reached out in an attempt to build a relationship, he faced rejection once again.
“Abandoned. Rejected. Angry. Bucci Franklin has lived through it all,” Chude wrote, summarising the raw emotions behind Franklin’s words.
Raised by a single mother, Franklin admitted that he was far from an easy child to raise. He began drinking and smoking before turning 18, a path that could have derailed his future completely.
Yet, through it all, his mother stood strong. Her resilience and constant guidance became the anchor that helped him push forward.

Speaking about his upbringing, Franklin reflected on how his mother’s sacrifices gave him the strength to face life’s battles. Her role, he said, was central to his transformation into the person he is today.
But the conversation was not only about childhood pain. Franklin also used the opportunity to address public curiosity about his private life.
For years, rumours have circulated about his relationship with fellow Nollywood star Sunshine Rosman. During the interview, Chude teased that Franklin had a surprising revelation about the matter, promising fans that the full interview would provide clarity.
Chude described the encounter with Franklin as one of his most powerful interviews yet. In his words, it was “one of the most beautiful, electric interviews” he had ever conducted.
He praised Franklin for speaking with honesty and vulnerability, saying the story would leave viewers not just in tears but also inspired by his strength.
The interview, which will soon be released on Chudeity’s platforms, is expected to draw wide attention. Fans will get to see Franklin as more than an actor.
They will see a man who has faced rejection, made mistakes, and fought his way through personal struggles to find peace.
For Franklin, sharing his story is more than just looking back at painful memories. It is also about challenging misconceptions, opening up family conversations, and showing that healing is possible.
As he continues to build his career in Nollywood, Franklin’s openness has offered a different picture of the man behind the screen.
His journey, filled with hardship and hope, stands as a reminder that even in rejection, growth and triumph are possible.
The full interview promises to reveal even more about his struggles, his resilience, and his view on love, life, and fame.
