Tanzanian singer Juma Jux has shared the heartwarming story of how he met and fell in love with his Nigerian wife, Priscilla Ojo, describing their first encounter as a clear case of love at first sight.
The singer made the revelation during a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, where he spoke openly about their relationship, marriage, and how meeting Priscilla changed both his personal life and career.

According to Juma Jux, their first meeting happened in Rwanda. At the time, he said, he had no idea that Priscilla was a public figure or the daughter of a well-known Nigerian actress. Instead, he was drawn to her purely because of her appearance.
“I met Priscilla in Rwanda,” he said. “I didn’t know she was a celebrity. When I saw her, it was love at first sight. I just said to myself, ‘Wow, this girl is beautiful. I like her.’”
However, the singer explained that physical attraction alone was not what convinced him to marry her. He said his decision became clear after they spent time talking and getting to know each other on a deeper level.
Juma Jux revealed that Priscilla’s communication skills, intelligence, and character played a major role in his choice. He said their conversations helped him see her as more than just someone he admired physically.
“After we had conversations, I figured out that she is the one I would marry,” he said. “It really was love at first sight, to be honest.”
Interestingly, the singer disclosed that even after several meetings, he still did not know that Priscilla was a celebrity. He said her fame only became clear to him much later, when he invited her to Zanzibar.
“Even after many meetings, I still didn’t know she was a celebrity,” Jux explained. “It was when I hosted her in Zanzibar and blogs started carrying the story that I realized who she was.”
The revelation surprised many fans, especially considering Priscilla Ojo’s strong presence on social media and her background in the Nigerian entertainment space.
However, Juma Jux said her fame never mattered to him, as his feelings were built on a genuine connection rather than status.
Beyond their love story, the singer also spoke about how marriage has positively influenced his career. He admitted that marrying a Nigerian woman has helped him expand his fan base, especially in Nigeria and other parts of West Africa.
According to him, the relationship exposed his music to a wider audience and strengthened his connection with Nigerian fans. He described the experience as both rewarding and encouraging.
“Marrying Priscilla has helped my career,” Juma Jux said. “My fanbase in Nigeria and West Africa has grown, and I’m grateful for the love.”
Juma Jux and Priscilla Ojo tied the knot earlier this year in a ceremony that attracted attention across East and West Africa. Fans, celebrities, and followers from both regions widely celebrated their union.
The couple later welcomed their first child, a son named Rakeem, on August 24, 2025. The baby was born in Canada, marking another joyful milestone in their journey together.
Since their marriage, the couple has continued to attract public interest, with many fans admiring their cross-cultural love story. Their relationship has often been described as a blend of affection, friendship, and mutual respect.
For Juma Jux, the story remains simple and sincere. What began as a chance meeting in Rwanda turned into a lifelong commitment built on communication, understanding, and love.
His account offers a refreshing look at how genuine connections can grow into lasting relationships, even in the spotlight of fame.
