Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola stole the spotlight at his daughter Temi Otedola’s wedding reception as he delivered heartfelt and at times humorous advice to the newlyweds.
Temi tied the knot with Nigerian singer Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, in a grand celebration that spanned three countries.
During his speech, Otedola praised the couple’s deep bond and their shared entrepreneurial drive. He described their love as genuine and their union as “made in heaven.” Speaking directly to Temi, he urged her to put her marriage first and to respect her husband’s leadership.
“You found a great guy, a very great guy, a blessed guy. He’s come from a very decent family,” Otedola said. “One thing I’ll advise you… You have to succumb to the whims and caprices of your husband. Okay? He’s your husband, he’s your boss. There’s no more dad, don’t call me up.”
The business mogul also showered praise on Mr Eazi, noting his determination and strong work ethic. He highlighted the singer’s entrepreneurial skills, predicting that the couple would build a successful future together.
“One thing I like about both of you, and I’ve observed, is that you’re truly in love with each other. Truly, truly in love,” he continued. “Temi is an entrepreneur. Tosin is an entrepreneur. So you match each other. This is made in heaven. For Tosin, you’re going to go places. You are hustlers, real hustlers. And it always pays off. Continue to love, Temi.”

Beyond praising their strengths, Otedola gave practical advice on managing challenges. He encouraged the couple to keep their disagreements private and to avoid involving outsiders in marital issues.
“When you have issues, problems, just keep it within yourself,” he said. “Never call any friend that you have this problem. Just keep it within your walls. And God will bless you and bless your marriage.”
The billionaire concluded his speech with a special gift for the couple, though he kept the details discreet. He explained that the present was symbolic of his support and belief in their potential.
“I thought of what should I give this couple as a present,” he said. “I thought, I’ve splintered my savings account. I brought my gift. This gift I present to you. You go out to the world. You’re both entrepreneurs. Out-think, out-manoeuvre, and out-spend. You’ll be great people. This is my gift for you.”
The lavish wedding ceremonies were held in Monaco, Dubai, and Iceland, attracting attention across the entertainment and business worlds.
After the celebrations, Temi updated her name on social media, officially adopting her husband’s surname, “Ajibade.” The move sparked fresh debate online about the tradition of women changing their names after marriage.
As the festivities wrapped up, Otedola’s words of wisdom stood out as both fatherly counsel and a blessing. His advice captured a mix of tradition, modern entrepreneurship, and the enduring belief in love as the foundation of marriage.
