Former Big Brother Naija reality star Adekunle Olopade has spoken out in defense of the Season 10 housemates following heated criticism over intimate moments captured on the show.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Adekunle stressed that the housemates involved are consenting adults who have not broken any rules by expressing physical attraction to one another. He reminded viewers that the reality show is rated 18 and urged them to keep this in mind before passing judgment.
His comments followed the release of several viral online clips. In one of the most talked-about videos, housemates Koyin and Isabella were seen under the duvet after the Saturday night party, in what many viewers interpreted as a sexual encounter.
Similarly, another video sparked outrage after the Friday night wager task presentation. The clip showed Sultana’s head moving under a duvet while fellow housemate Jason Jae lay beside her, suggesting possible oral intimacy.
Both clips triggered widespread debate across social media platforms, with many viewers accusing the housemates of indecent behavior.
Addressing the backlash, Adekunle strongly condemned what he called “image shaming” and unfair damage to the housemates’ reputations. He argued that such criticism is hypocritical and undermines the true essence of the show, which thrives on real, unscripted human interaction.

“So, because consenting adults ON A RATED 18 show who are clearly attracted to each other get intimate, that’s why you guys are coming up with all these think pieces? The hypocrisy I’ve seen this week alone is laughable,” Adekunle wrote.
He further questioned the double standards of critics, pointing out that many people who condemn the housemates likely engage in similar or even worse behavior in private.
“What do you guys really think happens when adults are left together in a confined space? Please let’s be real,” he continued. “The gag in all of this is, the people who are pointing fingers and quick to accusations actually do much worse, with multiple people in fact.”
Adekunle, who himself competed on Big Brother Naija Season 7 and made it to the finale, said viewers need to approach the show with honesty about what it represents.
According to him, the series has always been a platform where adults live together under constant surveillance, and intimacy is a natural outcome of such an environment.
His defense adds to the ongoing conversation about morality, privacy, and public expectations around the Big Brother Naija brand. While some fans argue that the housemates should maintain a level of decorum because of the influence the show wields, others believe the criticism is unfair and ignores the fact that the show is meant for mature audiences only.
As the Season 10 drama continues to unfold, Adekunle’s comments have drawn support from some quarters and sparked even more debate online, underscoring the polarizing nature of the reality show.
