Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has provided an update on the ongoing controversy involving her and the founder of Grace Nation Bible Ministry, Pastor Chris Okafor, saying discussions aimed at resolving the matter are currently in progress.
New Daily Prime reports that the actress was arrested by the Lagos State Police on Saturday after publicly accusing Pastor Okafor of failing to fulfill an alleged promise of marriage.
Her arrest followed a series of online posts and videos in which she criticised the clergyman over the issue, drawing widespread public attention and debate.

Doris was released on Monday afternoon after spending two nights in police custody. According to her, the pastor later appealed for a peaceful settlement, prompting the start of dialogue between both parties. She had earlier demanded compensation from Okafor as part of her claims.
Speaking to update the public on the situation, the actress disclosed that talks are ongoing and that no final decision has been reached yet. She said she remains in Lagos as she waits to see how the discussions will end.
“Talks are going on now. Resolution is ongoing at the moment,” Doris said. “I’m still in Lagos. I’m not back in Abuja. I want to know where it’s heading, and I want to know the end of this table talk.”
The actress said she feels emotionally drained and uncertain about her next steps, adding that she plans to seek divine guidance before making any further moves. According to her, the situation is deeper and more serious than many people realise.
“I will come back, and I will seek God’s face,” she said. “I will ask God the next direction, what should I do, because at the moment, I don’t know what to do. I will ask for His wisdom on what I should do.”
Doris also hinted that she has not yet shared the full details of her experience with the public.
She claimed that much of what she wanted to say was left unsaid, especially before her arrest, and suggested that the information already in the public space barely scratches the surface.
“I have a lot to say,” she stated. “I have a lot I want to reveal. I have a lot I want the world to learn from this. What I just said online is nothing compared to what I was about to say before my arrest.”
Despite her strong words, the actress said she is being cautious because she does not want the situation to escalate further or result in irreversible consequences. She stressed that her decision to tread carefully is guided by her conscience and faith.
“At the same time, I don’t want to have anyone’s blood on my hand,” she said. “This is still worse than anyone thinks. I haven’t said anything yet.”
Doris also made it clear that she is not intimidated by threats or possible legal consequences. She said she is prepared to face any outcome if it means standing by her truth.
“I’m not afraid of anyone. I’m not afraid of going to jail,” she said. “All I want is to speak my truth, and my truth I will speak.”
The controversy has continued to generate mixed reactions on social media, with some users expressing sympathy for the actress, while others have criticised her approach and called for restraint.
The case has also reignited conversations around personal relationships, public accusations, and the role of religious leaders in private disputes.
As discussions continue behind closed doors, the public awaits clarity on how the matter will be resolved. For now, Doris Ogala insists she is taking things one step at a time, relying on faith and reflection as she considers her next move.
Neither Pastor Chris Okafor nor Grace Nation Bible Ministry has issued a fresh public statement on the matter as of the time of this report.
