Mavin Records DJ, DJ Big N, has advised Nigerian artists to take a more active role in the Grammy Awards process to improve their chances of winning.
Reacting on his X (formerly Twitter) page after Nigerian nominees Davido, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Omah Lay, and Wizkid lost the Best African Music Performance category to South Africa’s Tyla at the 68th Grammys, Big N said nominations alone are not enough.

According to him, Nigerian artists should emulate legends like Angélique Kidjo by attending American music seminars, industry events, and getting involved in the Recording Academy’s voting process.
He stressed that being present and visible within the Grammy community all year round can help Nigerian artists better position themselves for future wins.
