“Fuckin animals… so disgusting,” Davido wrote in reaction to the disturbing video.
The footage shows two male students repeatedly attacking another student who had fallen to the ground. At one point, one of the attackers drags the victim by his school uniform and stomps on his chest and head while the boy cries out in pain.
A third student who was recording the incident could be heard pleading with the attackers to stop.
The video quickly sparked outrage across social media, with many Nigerians calling for disciplinary action against those involved.
Following the backlash, authorities at Igbinedion Secondary School announced the expulsion of the students responsible for the assault. The student who recorded the incident was also suspended.
Meanwhile, the Edo State Police Command confirmed that it has begun investigating the incident.
Police spokesperson Eno Ikioyedem said the Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, had directed the Divisional Police Officer in the area to conduct a full investigation.
“The Edo State Police Command strongly condemns acts of bullying, violence, or intimidation among students, and anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law,” the statement read.
The incident has since renewed public conversations about bullying in schools and the need for stronger disciplinary measures to protect students from violence.
