Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has been confirmed to join US rapper Drake as a headliner at the highly anticipated Wireless Festival in the United Kingdom this July.
Rapper Drake was earlier announced as the headliner for all three nights of this year’s Wireless festival.
It will be the Canadian rapper’s first UK performance in six years, with the One Dance hitmaker due to play a bespoke set on each night.
The festival, renowned as the UK’s premier urban music event, will take place at Finsbury Park, London, from July 11 to 13, celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Drake will perform across all three days, making history as the first artist to headline a festival for three consecutive nights with unique setlists each evening.
Nigerian music icon Burna Boy is slated to take the stage as a special guest on Sunday, July 13, alongside dancehall icon Vybz Kartel.
Other artists on the lineup include Summer Walker, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and The Mandem, with more acts to be announced soon.
This marks Burna Boy’s second appearance at Wireless, having previously performed in 2020 and was set to appear in 2022 but withdrew due to personal reasons.
The festival promises an unforgettable experience for fans of urban music, with general ticket sales starting on February 19 at noon GMT.
Born Damini Ogulu, Burna Boy gained fame after releasing ‘Like to Party’, the lead single from his debut album ‘L.I.F.E’ (2013).
Since then, he has released seven albums: ‘L.I.F.E’ (2013), ‘On a Spaceship’ (2015), ‘Outside’ (2018), ‘African Giant’ (2019), ‘Twice As Tall‘ (2020), ‘Love, Damini‘ (2022) and ‘I Told Them‘ (2023).
He has also won several awards. In 2021, the Afro-fusion artiste won the ‘Best World Music Album’ category at the Grammy Awards for his fifth album ‘Twice As Tall’.
