Nigerian rapper and singer Falz has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to social media activist Verydarkman for saying that he helped Bobrisky drop money laundering charges.

The ultimatum is in reaction to a viral tape posted by Verydarkman on September 24, 2024. Bobrisky claimed that some unknown EFCC personnel accepted ₦15 million from him to drop money laundering allegations against him.

The article accused Falana of attempting to obtain a presidential pardon for Bobrisky in exchange for N10,000,000.

According to the written petition, the defamatory claims were made on September 25, 2024, in a video post on Verydarkman’s Instagram page, which implied that Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Femi Falana and his son, Folarin Falana (Falz), were involved in a contentious affair involving Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky.

The video accused Falana of attempting to obtain a presidential pardon for Bobrisky in exchange for N10,000,000.

According to the video, Falana approached Bobrisky in an attempt to “divert justice” and obtain a presidential pardon for N10,000,000.

The letter characterised these allegations as “vicious, wicked, and reckless,” claiming that they were designed to destroy the lawyer’s prestigious name.

It stressed that Mr. Falana had never interacted with Bobrisky about anything, let alone requested a presidential pardon for the crossdresser.

The letter aggressively denied these claims, claiming that the remarks were “false, misleading, and defamatory” and attempted to portray Falana’s lifetime fight against injustice and corruption.

The visual assertions, according to the letter, implied that Falana’s advocacy was motivated by personal financial benefit and breached the Legal Practitioner Rules of Professional Conduct.

It read in part, “The entire publication was a vicious, wicked and reckless ploy to impugn the reputation of our client and lower him in the estimation of right-thinking members of the public. We, therefore, demand an immediate retraction of the offensive and derogatory publication as well as an apology prominently published on all the platforms to which you have disseminated it without any justification whatsoever.”

“Be advised that if we do not receive your formal retraction and apology as demanded within 24 (twenty-four) hours of the receipt hereof, we shall proceed with our client’s instructions to seek appropriate legal remedies, including monetary damages, against you for your incendiary publication and dissemination of defamatory statements.”
