Controversial Nigerian relationship therapist, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has spoken out strongly against the recent arrest of her fiancé, celebrity auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, better known as IVD.
According to New Daily Prime, IVD was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport while attempting to travel to Qatar. His arrest is reportedly linked to an unresolved domestic violence case from 2022 involving the tragic death of his wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.

The arrest has sparked renewed attention around the long-running case, which had remained relatively quiet in recent months. While legal details surrounding the incident remain unclear, police sources suggest that IVD’s name is still tied to the investigation, prompting the sudden detention.
In response, Blessing CEO took to Instagram on Tuesday to publicly defend her fiancé. In a series of emotional posts, she insisted that IVD is innocent and is being unfairly targeted by the authorities.
“They are pushing me so hard,” she wrote. “I will drop this love and come out with my full garment. They are bullying IVD, and it’s getting out of hand. IVD is innocent. I am not a coward. These people are using my man, and I won’t tolerate this anymore.”
Blessing, who has been vocal about her relationship with IVD despite heavy criticism online, expressed her frustration over what she described as “harassment” and “manipulation” by law enforcement. She argued that her partner was being treated unjustly, especially considering the lack of any formal charges.
In another Instagram post, she questioned the legal basis for IVD’s arrest. She pointed out that his passport had only recently been replaced after being missing for over two years and emphasised that there was no existing court order stopping him from travelling abroad.
“Why arrest a man at the airport with no case file, no official charges, and no court restrictions on his movement?” she asked.
According to her, the police have informed her that IVD will remain in custody until Monday, even though he has not yet been formally charged or presented with any official statement regarding the reason for his detention.
She described the situation as a clear example of abuse of power and claimed that IVD had been under continuous pressure and emotional blackmail since the matter first came to light in 2022.
“This is no longer about justice; it’s about power and intimidation,” she said. “For three years, this man has faced threats and pressure with no clear end in sight. It’s becoming a tool to punish and frustrate him.”
Blessing CEO further maintained that she would not be silent while her fiancé is allegedly being victimised. She insisted that the justice system must act fairly and transparently, rather than relying on fear and intimidation tactics.
The 2022 case involving Bimbo Ogbonna drew national attention after reports surfaced that the couple’s relationship was marred by allegations of abuse, heated confrontations, and public outbursts. Bimbo later died from injuries sustained in a fire incident at their home, with some sources alleging it was the result of a violent altercation.
While IVD has continued to deny any involvement in her death, the incident led to calls for a deeper investigation and fueled ongoing debates about domestic violence in Nigeria.
Since then, the case has remained unresolved, with little progress reported until his recent arrest. Many have since questioned whether the timing of the arrest is linked to renewed pressure from advocacy groups or a shift in legal strategy by the authorities.
As of now, the Lagos State Police Command has yet to release an official statement detailing the reasons for IVD’s arrest or confirming the next steps in the case. Meanwhile, Blessing CEO has vowed to keep speaking out until her partner is released or formally charged.
“I won’t be quiet anymore,” she declared. “Enough is enough.”
