Beyoncé has become a billionaire, according to Forbes, making her the fifth musician to reach the milestone.
The 44-year-old artist joins the ranks of the world’s wealthiest people following the success of her Cowboy Carter tour, which grossed more than $400m in ticket sales and an additional $50m from merchandise. Her previous Renaissance world tour generated more than $579m.
Her husband, Jay-Z, became the first musician to achieve billionaire status on Forbes’ list in 2019. Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift have since joined the group.
While Beyoncé has expanded into business ventures including her hair care brand Cécred, the SirDavis whiskey label and the Ivy Park clothing line, Forbes reports that the bulk of her fortune comes from music. This includes income from her catalogue and global touring.
In 2010, she founded Parkwood Entertainment, a management and production company that brought control of her music, live performances and visual projects under one umbrella.
Her 2024 album Cowboy Carter was widely praised and earned her a Grammy Award for album of the year, the first of her career. The accompanying tour became the highest-grossing music tour of 2025.
The three-hour stadium show featured appearances from Jay-Z, her children and former Destiny’s Child bandmates.
“For any area of the entertainment industry, few ventures are more profitable than a musician capable of selling out stadiums,” Forbes wrote. It noted that the tour employed 350 crew members, required 100 lorries of equipment and used eight Boeing 747 cargo planes to transport the production between cities.
Beyoncé began her career in the 1990s as part of Destiny’s Child before launching her solo career in the early 2000s. She holds the record for the most Grammy awards and nominations in the ceremony’s history.
She is also reported to have earned about $50m for her 2024 “Beyoncé Bowl” half-time performance during the NFL’s Christmas Day game, and a further $10m for appearing in advertising campaigns for Levi’s.
In 2025, Forbes estimates that there are more than 3,000 billionaires worldwide.
