Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Faith Adewale, has opened up about his difficult relationship with his mother.
The Osun-born medical doctor made the emotional disclosure during a late-night conversation with fellow housemate Joanna, shortly after Thursday’s pool party.
Faith, who has been steadily gaining attention in the house, did not mince words when the topic of family came up. At first, he voiced strong feelings, saying, “I hate my mum.”
His blunt admission caught Joanna off guard, and she quickly urged him to reconsider his choice of words.
“Don’t say that,” Joanna replied gently, cautioning him against using the word “hate.”
Faith then softened his tone. He admitted that “hate” may not fully capture his emotions. Instead, he explained that he wished his mother had been “a better mum.”
According to him, he has made efforts over the years to improve their relationship but has struggled to build a deeper connection with her. The young doctor said he often felt a gap between them that no amount of effort on his part seemed to bridge.

Joanna, who listened patiently, advised Faith to continue trying to mend the relationship. She reminded him that mothers often make sacrifices for their children, sacrifices that are not always visible or understood.
She said, “Sometimes we misunderstand our parents. Mothers go through a lot for their children, even if it’s just birthing alone. They deserve forgiveness, no matter the issues.”
The conversation struck a chord with other housemates, some of whom later discussed the importance of family bonds and the value of forgiveness.
The moment also sparked reactions among viewers who tuned in to the late-night exchange. Many took to social media to share their thoughts, with some sympathising with Faith’s honesty and others urging him to show more patience with his mother.
This is not the first time a Big Brother Naija contestant has shared personal struggles on the show. Over the years, the reality series has served as a platform where housemates reveal deeply personal stories, often sparking wider conversations across Nigerian society.
Faith’s statement added to this tradition, highlighting the complex dynamics of family life and the challenges many young people face in their relationships with parents.
For Faith, the confession may have been difficult, but it showed his willingness to speak openly about sensitive issues. His honesty may also invite viewers to reflect on their own family relationships, the weight of expectations, and the need for healing where bonds are strained.
As the season continues, fans will be watching closely to see whether Faith shares more about his background and whether the show allows him to heal and reconcile with his feelings.
For now, his candid words have stirred debate, opened conversations, and reminded audiences that even inside the glamour and drama of Biggie’s house, housemates carry with them very real and very human struggles.
