Former Big Brother Naija housemate and actress Victoria Iye, popularly known as Vee, has sparked conversations on social media after revealing that one of her biggest life goals is to avoid getting pregnant for “the wrong man.”
The reality TV star disclosed during a recent live video broadcast, where she spoke candidly about her views on love, dating, and the challenges of relationships in Lagos.
In the video, Vee explained that she is intentional about the choices she makes in her romantic life because she wants to avoid situations that could leave her emotionally or mentally scarred.
“It is my mission in life to avoid the wrong man getting me pregnant,” she said. “And it’s not to say I’m better than the women that have been in that position. It’s simply because I know myself, I know what I’m like, and I try to avoid certain situations that would put me in a state of psychosis.”
The 27-year-old added that she does not want to end up in a situation where a “baby daddy” would disrespect her or make demeaning remarks, stressing that her priority is emotional stability and self-respect.
“I’m passionate about not getting f*cked over and maybe that is what stops me from finding unapologetic love,” she admitted. “I’m stubborn. I’m hard-headed. But I’m not stupid. I need to make sure that when it comes to choosing a life partner, I try my best to get it right. You can’t know someone 100 per cent but you can try your best.”
Vee also highlighted the importance of learning from the experiences of others, noting that she does not need to personally endure hardship before knowing what to avoid.
“People say experience is the best teacher, not in my world,” she said. “Especially when there’s the internet, where people are sharing their experiences. I don’t need to experience something to know that it’s not going to work for me.”

Her comments have resonated with many fans who praised her for being self-aware and for speaking honestly about the pressures women face in relationships.
Social media users have been quick to share their thoughts on Vee’s statement, with some applauding her decision to prioritise emotional security before starting a family.
Vee rose to fame after participating in Big Brother Naija Season 5 (Lockdown edition) in 2020, where she became known for her outspoken personality and bold opinions. Since leaving the reality show, she has built a career as a singer, actress, and media personality, with several singles to her name.
Her frank take on dating and relationships has often kept her in the public conversation, making her one of the most outspoken BBNaija alumni.
Vee’s remarks touch on a broader societal issue regarding single parenting, co-parenting challenges, and the rising call for intentional family planning among millennials and Gen Z in Nigeria.
Her decision to prioritise emotional safety before starting a family mirrors the sentiments of many young women who are advocating for healthier relationships and responsible parenthood.
As the debate continues, Vee’s message remains clear, love is worth pursuing, but not at the expense of one’s mental health and peace of mind.
