MultiChoice Nigeria has officially announced that the tenth season of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) will premiere on Saturday, 26 July 2025, with a second launch show scheduled for Sunday, 27 July.
This marks a major milestone for the hit reality TV show, which first aired in 2006.
During a media briefing on Wednesday, the organisers revealed that this year’s winner will walk away with a ₦150 million grand prize, the biggest reward in the history of the show. This announcement generated widespread excitement among fans and the media.
Long-time host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu will return once again to anchor the show. He is expected to guide viewers through 10 weeks of drama, romance, competition, and unexpected twists. According to MultiChoice, the grand finale has been scheduled for Sunday, October 5, 2025.
Ebuka, who has hosted the show since its second season, shared his thoughts on the show’s enduring popularity. “BBNaija has become a part of Nigerian pop culture. With every season, we witness different personalities, stories, and experiences,” he said.
At the press event, Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of General Entertainment at MultiChoice Nigeria, described the upcoming edition as more than just another season. She said Season 10 would be “a celebration of legacy”, in honour of the show’s long-standing impact on entertainment and youth culture in Nigeria and across Africa.
While the theme for Season 10 remains under wraps, Tejumola confirmed that it will be unveiled during the premiere weekend.
The audition process for Season 10 kicked off with online applications between May 3 and 7, followed by in-person auditions held in Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu from May 16 to 18. The organisers said the selection was aimed at discovering Nigeria’s most charismatic and entertaining personalities and promised a vibrant mix of contestants.
This rigorous process, they explained, was to ensure that only the most engaging housemates made it into the Big Brother House.
