Among the featured artists are Nigerian stars Davido, Ayra Starr, and highlife band The Cavemen, as well as international acts including Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers.
Kidjo revealed the news in an emotional post on her Instagram page, where she disclosed that the album has been in development for five years.
According to the five-time Grammy Award-winning artist, the project reflects the message of hope she received from her mother, who passed away five years ago.
“Five years in the making: my new album HOPE! Dedicated to my mother, Yvonne, is coming out on April 24th,” she wrote.
Kidjo explained that her mother played a pivotal role in shaping her outlook on life and encouraging her to pursue her dreams. She noted that the album’s inspiration is rooted in the lessons and encouragement she received from her.
“She is the one who taught me that every dream I had could be accomplished, that hope for a better future is what makes us human. She left us five years ago, but her message resonates to this very day,” she added.
The celebrated singer also expressed gratitude to the numerous artists and collaborators who contributed to the project. In addition to the Nigerian and international stars already mentioned, the album also features contributions from global music figures including Quavo, Diamond Platnumz, Fally Ipupa, Charlie Wilson, PJ Morton, and the Soweto Gospel Choir.
“I put my whole heart into this album, and I’m so grateful to all the great artists who have contributed their genius to the album,” she said.
Kidjo further urged fans to anticipate the project, describing it as a deeply personal body of work.
“I can’t wait for you to hear it,” she wrote, while encouraging fans to pre-order the album.
With a career spanning decades and multiple international accolades, Kidjo remains one of Africa’s most influential musicians. The forthcoming album Hope is expected to further reinforce her reputation for blending African sounds with global music influences while delivering messages of resilience, unity, and optimism.
