The revelation by Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger accused of assaulting airline staff and security personnel, generated a storm of reactions on social media in the last couple of hours.
Recall that on 11 August, 2025, Emmanson, a realtor, was alleged of refusing to switch off her phone while boarding an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos on 10 August. The incident led to her remand at the Kirikiri Correctional Facility in Lagos State.
Although she was later granted bail following the intervention of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, Emmanson declined to speak publicly on the matter, stating that she was in pain and undergoing treatment.
Days later, she broke silence. Her narration of the incident triggered widespread criticism and controversy online, with some social media users expressing support for her while others condemned her actions.

Others emphasised that Comfort Emmanson had a strong case against the airline.
One user under the handle Question and Answer advised: “You need a good lawyer… sue the airline separately for manhandling you, then sue the woman for dragging you. Everyone will just learn.
