Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has emerged victorious in her defamation lawsuit against a Nigerian media outlet, nearly two years after being falsely linked to former senator Dino Melaye.
The actress, who was named among “six popular Nigerian celebrities” alleged to have dated the politician, filed a ₦100 million lawsuit against the platform for invasion of privacy and defamation of character.
Taking to her Instagram page on Tuesday evening, Adunni celebrated the court’s judgment in her favour, commending the Nigerian judicial system for upholding truth and integrity.

She wrote:
“Won my case, Adunni Ade vs. Polace Media Limited. A false story was published about me, but truth stood tall. This judgment reaffirms that privacy matters and so does integrity. Justice delayed isn’t justice denied.”
The actress expressed satisfaction that the court recognised the damage caused by the publication and reaffirmed the importance of protecting individuals from false media reports.
In her post, Adunni also hinted that she has other ongoing legal cases, suggesting that she intends to continue pursuing justice against those who have defamed her in the past.
“Two cases won, a few more to go. You who is running up and down avoiding court papers, please stand still, so that you can be served,” she added, seemingly addressing another defendant.
When responding to questions in her comment section, the actress disclosed that the court granted her ₦20 million in damages, though she noted humorously that the blogger had reportedly fled the country.
“Judge granted ₦20 million in damages, but blogger don japa. Na to garnish account remain,” she replied to a fan.
The actress, known for her roles in You or I, It’s Her Day, and Soólè, has long advocated for integrity and professionalism in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
This marks Adunni Ade’s second successful defamation suit, reinforcing her determination to hold media outlets accountable for false reporting.
