Veteran Fuji musician Dr. Adewale Ayuba has publicly refuted viral social media rumours claiming that he divorced his wife, Mrs. Azuka Ego Saliu Oke Ola, and questioned the paternity of their children.
In a strongly worded statement shared on his official Instagram page, the Bonsue Fuji creator dismissed the allegations as “baseless, malicious, and completely fabricated.”
The statement, which was signed by Ola Oluwasanmi, Brand Engineer for Bonsue Music, accused a “faceless blogger” of deliberately spreading falsehoods to tarnish the singer’s reputation.
“We want to state this clearly and categorically to everyone who supports Dr. Adewale Ayuba: There is absolutely no truth, not a single iota, in this cooked-up story,” the statement read.
“Dr. Adewale Ayuba and his wife, Mrs. Azuka Ego, are happily married, and their wonderful children are doing very well. The issue of paternity over their children has never, ever arisen in their marriage.”
Ayuba, widely regarded as one of the pioneers of Fuji music’s modern sound, further debunked rumours suggesting his marriage lasted only a year, clarifying that he and his wife have been together for over three decades.

He condemned the viral reports as a “cheap and despicable attempt to embarrass” his family and warned that such actions would not go unpunished.
“We are currently consulting with our lawyers to pursue all available legal remedies against this irresponsible individual,” the statement continued. “We will not allow Dr. Adewale Ayuba’s integrity to be attacked without consequences.”
This is not the first time a prominent Nigerian entertainer has had to address online rumours regarding their personal life.
Many celebrities have called for stricter measures to curb the spread of misinformation on social media, citing the emotional and reputational harm such rumours can cause.
Ayuba’s decision to pursue legal action could set a precedent for how public figures respond to false online narratives in the future.
