Nigerian comedian and actor Ijoba Lande has accused operatives attached to the Area “J” Division of the Lagos State Police Command of assaulting him, confiscating his mobile phone and stealing cash allegedly belonging to his brother.
A video currently circulating on social media shows the entertainer with visible facial injuries, including blood stains around his eyes, as onlookers poured water on his face in an attempt to help him.

The footage also includes scenes believed to have been recorded at a police facility, where Ijoba Lande appeared to be reporting the incident following the alleged attack.
Reacting to the incident, the skit maker said it occurred six days after his return to Nigeria from the United Kingdom, although he did not disclose the exact location or circumstances that led to the confrontation with the police officers.
Ijoba Lande alleged that the officers physically assaulted him, seized his iPhone 16 Pro Max, and took $1,200 in cash said to belong to his brother.
The comedian, who is popular for his comedy skits and appearances in Yoruba Nollywood films, said the incident left him traumatised and that he is seeking justice over the alleged misconduct.
As of the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the matter, and the full details surrounding the incident remain unclear.
