Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has urged Nigerians to stop fixating on his personal life and instead pay closer attention to the serious challenges confronting the country.
According to New Daily Prime, the award-winning singer made the statement on December 12, 2025, while performing at a live event where he thrilled fans with some of his biggest hit songs.
In between performances, 2Baba took a moment to address ongoing public conversations about his private life, particularly discussions surrounding his marriage to Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru.

Speaking directly to the crowd, the Afrobeats icon expressed frustration over how long the topic had dominated public discourse.
He stressed that while gossip and speculation about celebrities may be entertaining, they distract from far more pressing national issues that require collective attention.
“Make una ignore all that nonsense,” the singer told the audience. “Some serious things are happening in Nigeria. I’ve entertained you all enough. Let’s focus on more important things.”
2Baba, who has remained one of Nigeria’s most influential musicians for over two decades, reminded fans that he has dedicated much of his life to entertaining and inspiring Nigerians through music.
He suggested that the time had come for citizens to redirect their energy towards conversations that genuinely impact the nation’s future.
The singer’s comment comes amid sustained public interest in his marriage, which has generated widespread debate on social media and entertainment platforms.
Despite the attention, 2Baba made it clear that he would rather see Nigerians engage more deeply with issues affecting governance, economic stability, and social wellbeing.
Known not only for his music but also for his activism, 2Baba has consistently used his platform to speak on national matters.
He has previously lent his voice to campaigns against corruption, insecurity, and poor governance, earning respect beyond the entertainment industry.
As reactions continue to trail his statement, 2Baba’s message has once again positioned him as an artist who is not afraid to challenge public priorities.
For the singer, the call is clear: while entertainment has its place, Nigeria’s problems deserve far more attention than celebrity gossip.
