Veteran Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has shed light on the role of his former bandmate, Faze, in the long-running rift between him and fellow ex-Plantashun Boiz member, Blackface.
New Daily Prime recalls that 2Baba and Blackface have been locked in an on-and-off feud for several years, with Blackface repeatedly accusing the African Queen crooner of intellectual property theft, allegations 2Baba has consistently denied.

Addressing fans during his performance at the Made in Benue Festival in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, 2Baba clarified that Faze has remained neutral and uninvolved in the dispute.
According to the singer, the issues between him and Blackface have nothing to do with Faze, stressing that their personal differences should not be extended to the third member of the defunct group.
“You all know that Plantashun Boiz consisted of Blackface, 2Baba and Faze. But due to some unforeseen circumstances, Blackface is not with us right now,” he told the audience.
“However, no matter the beef wey me and Blackface get, nothing concern Faze inside. So, Faze is right here with me and we will represent Plantashun Boiz,” 2Baba added.
Plantashun Boiz, one of Nigeria’s most influential music groups of the late 1990s and early 2000s, disbanded amid internal disagreements. After the split, Blackface blamed 2Baba for the breakup and accused him of taking sole credit for songs they allegedly created together.
