Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to educational excellence with the commissioning of Ipara Junior College in Majiyagbe, Badagry.
Speaking at the event held at the school premises, Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, described the development as a major milestone aligned with the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Developmental Agenda for high-quality and inclusive learning.
The governor emphasised his administration’s literacy initiatives, ensuring that every school in Lagos has access to modern technology and resources.
He highlighted the significance of the project, not just for students, but also for empowering communities with skills to adapt to an evolving world.
Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated his unwavering support for all schools in the state, promising that every child will receive the quality education needed to build a brighter future.

He described Ipara Junior College as a symbol of excellence, representing the state government’s investment in the future of education.
“Every child deserves a safe and conducive learning environment, and we are laying the foundation for a more prosperous tomorrow,” he said.
The governor urged stakeholders and the Ipara community to take ownership of the new school facilities, ensuring they remain a hub for learning, growth, and inspiration for generations to come.
He commended the Special Committee on the Rehabilitation of Public Schools, teachers, and community leaders for their dedication to making this vision a reality.
Sanwo-Olu revealed that the state government is set to commission nine additional schools across Lagos, reinforcing its commitment to education.
He said since assuming office, he has built and renovated 4,000 classrooms, completed over 1,500 classroom projects, established nine new schools in underserved areas and recruited nearly 10,000 teachers to improve the quality of education.

The governor emphasised that these classrooms and facilities are designed to serve every child, regardless of socio-economic status or ability.
