The management of the Lagos State University, LASU, Ojo, has banned the wearing of nose rings, tattoo, transparent dresses among others on campus.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, gave the directive in a memo to deans, Provosts and other top management staff of the institution.

This is just as the management of the university has fixed next Monday for a walk against indecent dressing on campus.
“The Vice Chancellor having noted the continuous disregard for the University’s rules and regulations on indecent dressing by students has directed that:
“Provost, Deans, Heads of Departments and Faculty Officers should ensure decent dressing among students within their various College/Schools/Faculties; all lecturers are to deny any indecently dressed students from attending lectures.
*In view of the above, and for clarity, the following are modes of dressing which constitute indecent dressing among students of Lagos State University:
“Wearing transparent dresses, mini and skimpy skirts/dresses, and other clothes revealing sensitive parts of the body. Wearing tattered, dirty jeans with holes or obscene subliminal messages.
“Wearing “baggy”, “saggy”, “yansh”, “ass level”, and any other form of indecent trousers. Wearing tight fitting apparels; wearing clothes that reveal sensitive parts of the body. Wearing shirts and tops with obscene, obnoxious or seductive inscriptions.
“Wearing shirts without buttons, improperly buttoned, rolling of sleeves or flying collar.
“Wearing of face caps or complete covering of face (very dark glasses). Piercing of body and tattooing. Wearing of earrings and a necklace by male students. Wearing of nose rings, very big dropping earrings and necklaces by students.
“Wearing of distractive knocking shoes like stiletto heels to lecture rooms and the Library. Plaiting, weaving or bonding of hair by male students. Wearing slippers.
“Wearing of lousy, unkempt, extremely bogus hair or coloured artificial hair, brightly tinted hair/eyelashes/brown, fixing of long eyelashes, artificial dreadlock. Fixing of long nails.

“It is important to note that any student who violates the dress code in the University will be sanctioned accordingly.”
