In a bold move to transform Imo State into a global technology powerhouse, Governor Hope Uzodimma has flagged off the Founder Dojo Imo Bootcamp.
The initiative is a free, high-impact startup development program designed to bridge the gap between local innovation and the global tech market.
This “deliberate action plan” aims to replicate the success of the world’s leading tech economies right in the heart of the South-East, moving beyond policy ideas into a tangible reality for “Ndi Imo.”

The Founder Dojo Imo is hosted by Imo Digital City in a strategic collaboration with world-renowned innovation hubs.
These include the Global Innovation Dojo / US Market Access Center (USMAC), which brings Silicon Valley’s rigorous startup culture to Nigeria, and the Berkeley Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (UC Berkeley), which provides world-class intellectual support and academic frameworks.
This new bootcamp acts as an advanced layer to the Governor’s flagship Skill-Up Imo project.
While Skill-Up focuses on digital literacy and technical skills (AI, Cybersecurity, Software Development), the Founder Dojo focuses on building the entrepreneurs who will lead the companies of tomorrow.
The programme offers hands-on mentorship, providing direct guidance from experienced Silicon Valley founders. Participants will gain global exposure, with opportunities to engage with international tech ecosystems.
There is also funding access, offering a clear pathway to venture capital and expert business guidance.
The most promising startups will earn a place in a Silicon Valley immersion, a high-intensity programme held in California.
During the flag-off ceremony, Uzodimma emphasised that his administration is “matching vision with action” to ensure Imo State is globally competitive.
“Replication of the world tech economy in Imo State is not just a policy idea but a deliberate action plan,” the governor stated. “I encourage ambitious talents and innovators to key into this initiative as we collectively build a resilient, tech-driven State.”

The governor’s “Imo Digital Agenda (IDEA) 2022–2026” has already trained over 50,000 youths, and with the introduction of the Founder Dojo, the state is shifting from “classroom to contract,” ensuring that trained talents become job creators and global leaders.
