The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) recently released the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which revealed that Nigeria’s inflation rate reached 33.88 per cent in October 2024. According to the NBS, the rate is a 1.18 per cent increase from the 32.7 per cent recorded in September 2024, attributed to the increase in transportation costs and higher food prices. Airlines’ trapped funds globally have dropped to $1.7 billion as of October from the $1.8 billion reported in April 2024. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) stated this in a new report released on Monday, December 9, adding that Nigeria has exited the list of countries blocking the repatriation of airline funds. Nigerian fintech, Moniepoint, has kept mum over an alleged N1 billion fine imposed on it and other fintechs by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) over compliance issues.
