Nine people have died from a cholera outbreak in the Andoni and Akuku-Toru Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Rivers State. This was confirmed on Thursday by the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Adaeze Oreh, during a media conference. The Rivers State Police Command has recovered the lifeless body of the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Rivers State Cassava Project Limited, Mr. Gibson Reuben, an expatriate from the Netherlands. Rumon Haque, a 37-year-old suspect, has been charged with attempted murder for stabbing a nurse at Royal Oldham Hospital in Greater Manchester with a bladed article.
