A 35-year-old lady, Blessing Oleru, who resides on OMPADEC Road, Igwuruta Town, Rivers State, has been apprehended by the state police operative for allegedly swapping debit cards. The police spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, in a document shared on Tuesday to journalists, stated that the state command achieved this following a coordinated intelligence operation. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has placed at least 1,600 employees on administrative leave as part of a broader workforce reduction plan. The announcement was made on Sunday, at 11:59 pm EST through an official statement titled “Notification of Administrative Leave,” published on the agency’s website. According to the statement, most USAID direct-hire employees, except those assigned to mission-critical tasks, leadership positions, or specially designated programs, have been placed on leave globally. Indonesia has introduced a free medical check-up programme for all its 280 million citizens. A statement from the chief of the Presidential Communication Office, Hasan Nasbi, said the healthcare initiative was the first of its kind. The ‘Cek Kesehatan Gratis (CKG) programme’ initiative aims to promote preventive healthcare, eliminating barriers to accessing healthcare services. Mr Nasbi said citizens can access the programme through the Satu Sehat mobile app or by visiting the nearest government health clinic. Nigerian authorities have intercepted a 24-year-old Thai lady, Ms. Pattaphi Wimonnat, for attempting to smuggle 43 parcels of Canadian Loud, a synthetic strain of cannabis, into the country. The consignments weighing 46.60 kilograms were concealed in her boxes. About twelve persons have reportedly lost their lives in the Niger State road accident that occurred on Saturday morning.
