A 13-year-old boy has been charged following the stabbing of two pupils at a secondary school in north-west London. The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons due to his age, has been charged with attempted murder and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, according to the Metropolitan Police. Three African countries have agreed to accept the return of foreign offenders and migrants without legal status following warnings from the UK home secretary over possible visa restrictions. A court in Nigeria has ruled that the UK government pay the sum of $27m (£20m) to the 21 families of coal miners who were killed during colonial rule in the south-east in 1949.
