The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that its operatives intercepted nine trucks loaded with smuggled rice in Ogun State. Disclosing the feat during a press briefing in Lagos on Monday, the Comptroller of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone A, Kola Oladeji, disclosed that the operation was carried out by officers under the FOU Zone A, who successfully prevented the smugglers from bringing the goods into Nigeria from the Republic of Benin. Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested seven suspected cultists allegedly terrorizing the Ijebu-Ode area of the state. The state Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Omolola Odutola, said the suspects, identified as members of the Aiye Confraternity, had been on the command’s watchlist for various cult-related activities.
