The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of two people and 15 others injured in a lone accident involving a Toyota Hiace bus at Saapade on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. The Spokesperson of FRSC in Ogun State, Mrs Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident on Thursday in Abeokuta. Okpe noted that the accident occurred at 4:34 p.m. on Thursday. Gunmen have reportedly killed at least 11 people in an attack on some communities in Nyiev-ya, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State. Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has pardoned Segun Olowookere, who was sentenced to death for armed robbery in Osun State. Olowookere was pardoned alongside his accomplice, Sunday Morakinyo, the governor disclosed in a statement on X on Thursday. Tragedy has once again struck the family of Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, following the death of his eldest son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, in a fatal car accident. The incident occurred barely 24 hours after the governor lost his mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi.
