Subscribers of MTN and other telecommunication companies (TELCOs) will face hard times as the operators move to increase their service tariffs in the country. This comes after the Chief Executive of MTN Nigeria, Karl Toriola, disclosed that the telecommunications firms have sent a proposal to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) for a 100 percent service tariff increase. In fulfilment of its promise, the government of Oyo State, led by the governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has paid a 13th-month salary to workers in the state civil service. NEW DAILY PRIME learnt that the workers received the payment alert on their phones on the evening of Monday, December 30, 2024. The Federal Government has launched moves for the extradition of self-professed Prime Minister of Biafra in ExileSimon Ekpa by formally submitting the necessary requirements to Finnish authorities. Police operatives in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have recovered an array of weapons from the residence of 33-year-old Obinna Nwigwe after he was arrested for shooting one Andrew Philemon at a guest house in Bwari area of the capital city. The wave of impeachments continues to spread through Local Government Areas of Edo, following the face-off between Governor Monday Okpebholo and the elected Chairmen of the councils.
