A presidential candidate from the Podemos party in the October 9 elections in Mozambique, Paulo Guambe, has been assassinated. AFP reports that Guambe was killed alongside the lawyer for Mozambique’s leading opposition candidate, Venancio Mondlane, who ran for president in the October 9 elections. A drone has hit Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s holiday home in the country’s north, Al Jazeera has confirmed, triggering air raid sirens across Israel, including the main city of Tel Aviv. Nigeria’s secret police, the Department of State Services (DSS) has slammed a N5.5 billion defamation suit on the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) for allegedly making a false claim against it. Troops of the Nigerian Army have killed no fewer than 96 terrorists during operations in the Northern parts of the country. According to the Defence Headquarters, a total of 227 suspects, including a terrorist commander identified as Usman Maisaje, were arrested in the operations.
