The Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), comprising governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has pledged to enhance collaboration between federal and state governments to bolster governance and development across Nigeria.
This resolution was outlined in a communiqué issued on 17 October 2025, following a two-day meeting in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, as announced by the forum’s chairman, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State.
The gathering, which convened APC governors from across the country, focused on addressing Nigeria’s socio-economic challenges and evaluating the role of states in advancing national development.

Discussions emphasised the need for improved coordination among federal, state, and local governments to ensure effective service delivery and promote inclusive governance.
A significant moment was the formal induction of Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, into the APC, increasing the party’s control to 24 states.
This development was hailed as a step towards consolidating the APC’s influence and aligning more states with its national agenda.
The governors reviewed President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing economic and social reforms, commending initiatives aimed at enhancing fiscal stability, food security, power supply, and infrastructure.
They noted that these reforms are stabilising Nigeria’s economy, citing improvements in trade surpluses, non-oil revenue, and currency stability as evidence of progress.
The PGF reaffirmed its commitment to aligning state-level policies with national development priorities, ensuring that reforms translate into tangible benefits for citizens.
The forum also expressed unwavering support for policies designed to improve public welfare, including agricultural productivity programmes and social protection initiatives.
Uzodimma underscored the importance of unity within the APC to drive sustainable development, urging governors to prioritise projects that address poverty and infrastructure deficits.
The PGF meeting, alongside the commissioning of the Tinubu Kauran Gwandu Movement for Continuity (TKG) State Secretariat in Kebbi, highlighted the APC’s focus on strengthening its political and developmental framework.
