Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to prioritise accurate data collection and measurable outcomes to enhance governance and bolster the party’s operational framework.
Speaking at the official flag-off of the APC South-West E-Membership Registration Hands-on Device/Application Programme, themed “Train-the-Trainer,” held on Tuesday at Lagos House, Marina, the governor emphasised that sustainable progress in politics and administration hinges on credible data management.
Represented by his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, Sanwo-Olu asserted: “Whatever cannot be measured cannot be managed.”
He insisted that the APC must develop a comprehensive, reliable membership database to facilitate internal communication, deepen member engagement, and ensure electoral readiness.
“As a political party, we must be able to measure our members. That’s the only way we can manage effectively,” he said.
“We need to know who our members are, where they are, and how they feel about governance. It shouldn’t only be during elections that we begin to scramble for information.”
The governor highlighted the necessity of two-way communication between the government and citizens, noting that precise data would enable the APC to better understand constituents’ needs and monitor public sentiment.
Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed Lagos State’s dedication to transparency, efficient data management, and people-centred governance.
He called on participants to fortify the party’s digital infrastructure to sustain its track record of electoral success.
Praising President Bola Tinubu, the governor described the administration’s economic and petroleum sector reforms as “tough but necessary,” asserting that early results are emerging.
He urged APC members to rally behind and defend the Renewed Hope Agenda, promising long-term benefits for Nigerians.
