The Eko Mi Eko E magazine held its annual Eko Best 11 awards on June 19 2025, honouring 11 outstanding individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to the development of Lagos State.
In his welcome address, the Publisher of Eko Mi Eko E, Bestman Jumbo-Nze, stated, “It is with great pleasure that I welcome you, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, to this year’s Eko Mi Awards that we have tagged Eko Best 11, to celebrate 11 individuals who have been outstanding in every sense of the word in their contribution to the development of our great state. This year’s edition is taking this theme because, like you have the best players representing a football team in its lineup of its first eleven, we have carefully and thoughtfully selected these ambassadors of Lagos, who represent the Lagos slogan, Centre of Excellence.”

Jumbo-Nze believed that the celebration of outstanding individuals in “our society will serve as a catalyst and a good example for others, especially our youths to aspire to role models like these individuals that are today’s Eko Best 11.”
The Editor-in-Chief of Eko Mi Eko E, Victor Ganzallo, in his speech, praised the awardees for their dedication and hard work. “Tonight, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of some Lagosians, whose dedication and hard work have made a profound difference,” Ganzallo said.
Ganzallo further stated, “Our magazine, Eko Mi Eko E will continue to uphold our mantra, which is to practice developmental journalism, be the voice of our people, help the government to serve our people better, highlight and celebrate anyone, regardless of their background, ethnicity or political leaning who is contributing to the development of our great state.”
