The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mariya Mahmoud, has said that the energy, ideas, and mobilisation capacity of Nigerian youths remain the backbone of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mahmoud made the remarks while addressing APC youth leaders from the North-West Zone during the Asiwaju/Shettima Meet and Greet event held at the Ladi Kwali Hall of the African Continental Hotel, Abuja.
She commended the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and the APC youth leadership for organising what she described as a strategic platform aimed at strengthening party unity, engagement, and resolve. The minister praised the youths for their loyalty to the APC and their continued support for the administration of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

According to her Special Adviser on Media, Austine Elemue, Mahmoud noted that the contribution of young people has remained central to the party’s success and the sustenance of democratic ideals.
“Your energy, ideas, and mobilisation efforts continue to serve as the backbone of our party’s success and the sustenance of our democratic ideals,” she said.
The minister reaffirmed the strategic importance of the North-West Zone in Nigeria’s political development and the APC’s electoral victories, urging youth leaders to embrace issue-based engagement, peaceful mobilisation, and constructive dialogue. She expressed confidence that the gathering would further deepen unity within the party and energise the youth base in support of the Tinubu–Shettima administration.
Also speaking at the event, the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who served as Director of the 2023 Youth Mobilisation for the North-West, said the meeting was organised to unite APC youth leaders who played key roles in the party’s victory during the 2023 general elections.
Goronyo acknowledged the contributions of young party members to the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that the gathering was intended to re-energise youths for sustained support of the current administration. He called on them to continue inspiring other young Nigerians to support the government in delivering on its campaign promises to the North-West Zone and the country at large.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of meritorious awards to outstanding APC youth leaders from the North-West in recognition of their dedication and contributions to the party’s growth and electoral success.
