All Progressives Congress (APC) has revised its 2025/2026 activity schedule, extending the ongoing nationwide membership e-registration exercise to February 8, 2026, and excluding Rivers, Osun, Ekiti states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from its forthcoming party congresses.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, disclosed this on Friday while briefing journalists in Abuja after the 183rd meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC). He also announced that the APC National Convention, earlier slated for March 17, will now hold from March 27 to March 28, 2026.
Morka explained that the membership e-registration exercise, which was initially scheduled to run from December 1, 2025, to January 30, 2026, was extended to allow more members to register and to help the party meet its target of 12 million members nationwide.
According to him, the NWC also approved February 18, 2026, as the date for the party’s ward, local government, state and zonal congresses, with specific exemptions. Rivers State was excluded because off-cycle congresses were conducted there last year and the tenure of the elected executives is still valid. Osun State, Ekiti State and the FCT were exempted due to forthcoming governorship and council elections, with congresses in those areas to be held after the polls.

“At the meeting, the National Working Committee resolved to extend the ongoing membership e-registration exercise from January 31 to February 8, 2026,” Morka said. “The party will also hold its congresses on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, while the National Convention will take place from March 27 to March 28, 2026, with exceptions for Osun, Ekiti, the FCT and Rivers State.”
He urged party members to intensify mobilisation efforts to ensure that eligible members who are yet to register take advantage of the extension. Morka also revealed that the NWC had approved the composition of the Coordinating Committee for the National Convention, noting that the full list and other adjustments to the congress timetable would be published on Monday.
Speaking further, the APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, said the e-registration exercise had been highly successful, stressing that the extension was not due to poor participation but to accommodate growing interest among members. He disclosed that the party had already surpassed seven million registered members and was on course to exceed 12.5 million by the close of registration.
Basiru added that, in line with the party’s digitalisation drive, applications for the upcoming congresses would also be conducted online for the first time. He noted that the e-registration process requires only a registrant’s name and Voter Identification Number (VIN), describing the initiative as a step toward strengthening internal democracy and ensuring that party members are registered voters capable of participating fully in the electoral process.
