The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed strong confidence that Nigerians will re-elect President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, 17 September 2025, Yilwatda highlighted the party’s unwavering support for Tinubu’s candidacy.
During a recent party summit, Yilwatda noted that APC governors, National Assembly members, and other key stakeholders unanimously endorsed President Tinubu as their preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
“At the summit of the party, the governors, National Assembly members, and the entire members of the party that attended that summit endorsed President Tinubu as their preferred candidate for 2027,” he stated.
Emphasising the APC’s commitment to its members’ preferences, Yilwatda said, “We are the party that listens to the voice of our members.
If the members of the party endorsed him, the party will, of course, go along with him. That’s our position as a party.”
He underscored the party’s democratic approach, aligning with the will of its members.
Reflecting on Tinubu’s 2023 victory, Yilwatda expressed optimism about his re-election prospects, stating, “Nigerians voted Tinubu as president in 2023, they will do the same in 2027.”
The chairman’s remarks signal the APC’s intent to rally behind Tinubu, leveraging his incumbency and the party’s widespread support base.
