The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has thrown its weight behind President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027.
The endorsement took place during a stakeholders’ meeting on Tuesday, at Victoria Island, Lagos, where party leaders, traditional rulers, and members rallied to affirm their support for the President.
The motion to back the former Lagos State governor was passionately moved by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who highlighted Tinubu’s leadership and contributions to the state and nation.
“We’ve listened to our stakeholders today, and by unanimous decision, we agree that President Bola Tinubu should present himself for a second term,” Sanwo-Olu declared, his voice resonating with conviction.
The motion was seconded by Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, who echoed the sentiments of the gathering.
The endorsement was formalised when Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, the revered traditional ruler of Ikorodu, moved the motion, stating, “We endorse Tinubu to go for a second time.” Obasa swiftly seconded, affirming the collective will of Lagos APC members.
The room buzzed with enthusiasm as stakeholders expressed confidence in his vision for Nigeria’s future.
Sanwo-Olu, beaming with optimism, concluded, “This message will reach Aso Rock and every corner of this great country.”
The endorsement underscores Tinubu’s enduring influence in Lagos, where his legacy as the 12th governor continues to inspire loyalty.
For many in attendance, the decision was not just political but deeply personal, reflecting their belief in Tinubu’s ability to steer Nigeria forward.
